Switching gears, and falling back into an old fandom!

Hello to you all!

Ah yes, I believe it's right about time I write a journal again. To let you know what I've been up to lately, and what you can expect from me.

Time will not stand still, and at the moment I can't wait for the end of the summer. Damn, what's wrong with me! Right? What kind of 21-year-old person wants summer to end these days?
Well, aparently - I do.

Around January I decided to quit college, and went to work to figure out what I want to do with my life. Not something you'll do overnight, I promise you.
And so I had decided to work for about a year or so...
To bad I almost always never do what I promise myself I'll do. (Like eating healthier, or going to bed on time, something like that)
Which is how I came to realise I wanted to go back to school. So, I was about to work until September, and start going back to school after that.
About two weeks after I've decided to do so, I got fired for some really stupid mistake I made. (Yes, lady fate sure knows how to make sure I get my arse back in school)

Now, I'm sitting at home, taking care of the household while my father and little sister are working. And you'd think with all the free time I've got now, I would be delighted and be writing chapter after chapter.
Sadly, that's not the case.

When it comes to Young Justice, I'm completely out of juice. I've been pondering about stories which are YJ related for months, but now it's like - poof! All gone.
I don't even feel like thinking about Young Justice. I'm sure it's just temporary, and I'm afraid it's got something to do with the fact that YJ got a rather incomplete and very unsatisfactory ending. Not to mention the fact that I feel like the fandom's slowly whithering to a very small group of people... am I the only one thinking like this? Please, do prove me 'm wrong.

Weirdly enough, I got back into an old fandom of mine. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
About a year or two ago I couldn't stop thinking about these four little green dudes. (Until YJ came along and I totally forgot about my turtle boys. I'm sure they won't hold a grudge for that...)

Sooo... Instead of forcing myself to do something I just don't feel like doing... I've decided to put my YJ stories on hold.
Also, I've decided to not make a comic about YJ: Ascension. It takes way too much time, and with school coming up, it would be safer for me to write the story instead. I love writing, I've been doing it ever since I can remember, so why stop now?
I'll still be working on this story, as well as something else I'm thinking about. (hint hint to the YJ art I've been working on)

But for now, you can expect some TMNT fanart. (including my own OC's I've never drawn before)

And for the YJ fans out there. I still take requests to create your OC's in YJ style.
But only with bases (which most of you know, I make myself.) You can check out my gallery to see what I mean.
I'll do Hero and civilian complete outfits.
Headshots, upper body shots.

But please, no complicated works with many characters in them. It takes way too much time. More than I'd like to put into something I do for free.

Also, I used to do everything in Paint. I now use SAI instead. If you prefer to have the art done in Paint, just let me know.
I will continue to do the lineart first in Paint, so I can still put the bases up on DA for you to use.

Thank you for reading my not so interesthing journal entry, I'll be looking forward to hearing from you guys. =)

"New is good. Because old ended in death."
- G. House

In my previous journal entry I mentioned I've been busy with starting up a little project revolving around Wally's death, and the introduction of an OC of mine into the main plot of the original YJ series.

That's what Young Justice: Ascension is. It's the name I've come up with for my project.
Since it's a series of stories it also means there are different plots, but they all lead up to the beginning of the Ascension, so to speak. Which will start three years after the 'death' of our beloved Wally West, a.k.a. Kid Flash I.

YJ: Ascension's main focus remains on Dick Grayson, Wally West, and my OC. And will be told in combination of Comics and written parts.

If you are still curious about this, and would like to know a little more, please read what I've got to say.

Ever since I realised I really wanted to do this, I've been trying my best to figure out the best way to start this up, and think of the most important plotpoints of these series of stories. Of course there are certain plots and characters that are canon to the Young Justice universe that I've been struggling with whether or not to keep them the way they are.

Then there's the part of my own story plots, about which one I'm going to choose and stick with.
So I'll be putting some of these up here. And for those who are reading this journal, and are interested in contributing your thoughts of what you'd like to see, please don't hesitate to leave a comment below.

The main subjects that are still uncertain are:

Artemis:
Oh yes, the big question's Artemis. What to do with her? She is a great character, and what made her so great was her part and struggle of trust within the Team. I like her very much, and would hate to take her out of the original story, but I am concidering to do so.
But here's the thing, if I do leave her out, I'll be giving her an entire new story line. Don't worry, she's too much of an epic character to leave her out entirely. So, what do you think?
- Leave Artemis the way it is. In the Team, and become Wally's girlfriend.
- Take her out, and create a new origin story for her. (this does mean that I'm definitely getting Frostbite into it! For those who don't know what this means, it's the name for Artemis and Icicle Jr. as a couple.)

The introduction of the OC:
There are many reasons why I'm having trouble with this. What I'd like most is to break through the usual plotlines for OC's that get introduced into the Team. And that's not easy. Not to mention the question of how to keep the story interesthing for people to read if she does follow the original plot of YJ. So, here are some of my thoughts on her, but first... who is it? I've got many OC's on DA, but the latest one is going to be my little star in the story.
Ashley Bakker a.k.a. Blaze, and the protege of Fire (Beatriz da Costa) You can find information about Blaze here: wickedcurlyfeather.deviantart.…
- Get her as part of the original trio (which would make it a quartet really), who ventures into the Cadmus fecility.
- Let her go into Cadmus as part of a solo mission, and let her find the trio accidentally.
- The Team (Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Robin, and Miss Martian) are sent on a mission by Tora to find Blaze who got captured durin a mission wit Fire.

Here's the other thing:
- Blaze as a main character of the Team.
- Blaze as a secondary character of the Team who takes part in some missions, but mostly has her own missions with Fire, her mentor, to deal with.

The Gods: Greek VS Norse VS Christian
Yes, I am bringing in the Gods. But which ones?! I already know that I want either of the groups to take part into the plot, but it's not easy to decide which. I feel that I'm leaning in more towards the Norse because of Loki. While I'm leaning in more towards the Greek because of Hades. T
he Christian God, and the idea of angels and demons, I like because of the great things Supernatural has been able to do with them. (you don't know what I'm talking about? Check Supernatural out sometime, it's worth it)
- Greek
- Norse
- Christian
- Or maybe you've got another idea?

(I hope I'm not boring you by now =))

Chronical way of telling:
I've already got three main stories I'd like you people to read, but I have no clue where to start! Should I start chronically, backwards... or maybe even all at once?

- Griswold story line: I used to call it ''The Paranormal life of Wally West'' It's pretty much where it starts. Wally and Dick venture into the lives of the Griswold family, and get entangled with the supernatual. Introducing ghosts, mediums and necromancers. It's main focus is on Wally and Dick's friendship, as well as the focus on Wally's friendship with a little ghost girl.

- Wildfire Saga: This is the story that takes place from the moment when the Team was made until right before where Young Justice: Ascension starts. It's main focus is Blaze; who she is, and what happened to her, and what her connections are to the Team and the rest of the characters of YJ. I prefer to start here, but 'm worried that having an OC star in the first story would make it harder to get people to read it.

- YJ: Ascension: The story that starts three years after Wally's death. Dick wants answers, and he's teaming up with Blaze to get them. While at the same time we'll learn what has happened to Wally. Is he really dead, and is his soul trapped behind the veil that seperates the death from the living? Or did something else happen to him? I already know, but which one do think it is?
- Wally's really dead, and his soul is trapped.
- Wally's alive, but in a different time.
- Wally's alive, but in a different world/dimension.

I do make sure that anyone who starts reading YJ: Ascension would be able to understand everything without having to read the other two stories.

This is it for now... What do you think? Is it worth for me to bring this project from the ground? Or should I op now, when it hasn't taken up too much of my time yet.

Íf you've read till this part, I'm really grateful you did. I'd like to hear what you've got to say.

'Till the next time,

"Give me six hours to chop down a tree,
and I will spend the first hour sharpening the axe."

             - Abraham Lincoln

Never I knew quite what to say in here. Then I was too afraid of saying what I wanted to.
And then I grew up, and realised I can say whatever I want. (not everything, obviously, I've still got boundaries)
I also figured that I'd like people to know what I think, and so, here it is...

My very first journal entry, oh the joy :)

Another Sunday has come without watching a new episode of Young Justice.
I suppose it shouldn't bother me as much, since we're supposed to be used to this with all of the hiatuses they've thrown at us.
Still... knowing we might never get another episode, saddens me :(

But it also inspires me! =D

I've been thinking of a story - in comic form - that mainly focusses on;

~ A new character joining the original trio in their quest of CADMUS.
~ Seeking out the truth behind Wally's death.
~ The untold story of the Griswold family and their secrets. (I've been dying to do something with them, instead of just thinking)
~ Teen heroes, Growing up, Ghosts, Sins, Action figures, Comics, and some Romance, of course!

Obviously, the first two dots are rather far apart on the timeline. Which is why I'm still troubled with where to start the story.
Secondly, I'm not much of a good artist, which is my main reason why I'm 'thinking' of doing this. I want to improve on more than just drawing people in the same position over and over again. And starting up a little something of a comic will challange me to do things I've never done before.

(I'm still debating over whether or not if I should write the story instead, but I preferably want to combine writing and drawning.)

I have no clue if people read these things, but hey, if anyone has some pointers on making a comic, please let me know, it'll mean a lot to me.

Well, that was about it for today...
